Hello Taj fans!!! On Saturday, April 29, you can check out Taj on the Punk/Ska Stage at this year’s Ska Weekend in Knoxville, TN! Other ska bands performing include Catch 22, The Pietasters, The Flatliners, Deal’s Gone Bad, The Stingers, and a number of other awesome bands. Also, come by the The Taj Motel Trio tent and hang out with us for a while at the show or pick up some merch. It’s going to be a lot of fun…and probably raining, which makes it even more fun, right?!?

Also, for those of you in Florida, we’ll be on tour in your state in late May, so watch for those to be posted soon…We’re also working on booking another awesome east coast tour plus some dates in Michigan and possibly Chicago, so watch for those dates as well…

One last note…I know many of you are dying for some new Taj, right?...well, all we can say is that it’s coming soon. If you catch us on tour, you’re very likely to hear just a few of the many tracks we’re working on for the new album. We’re hoping to finish up recording this summer and have a new album in your hands this fall!

We've got some cool shows coming up this week! Tonight we'll be playing @ Loco's Deli in Gainesville, GA and tomorrow night  (April 7th) we'll be playing @ the C.O. Miller Teen Center in Hickory, NC. Both of these shows are gonna be fun so if you're in the area you should try to come out. We'll also be playing at the Masquerade in Atlanta on Saturday April 22nd w/ Catch 22, and in Knoxville, TN at Ska Weekend 2006 on April 29th.

We've posted a studio recording of one of our new songs on our MySpace page. It's the last one on the play list and it's called "Another Drink". It's a bit slower than most of our other songs but we like it. It also features some killer organ playing, courtesy of Rob Hoskins from aka Rudie. Go check it out!!!!

We're currently working on booking tour dates for the summer. We have a few posted on our shows page already. If you want us to play in your town or know someone who can help book a show near you, send us an email and let us know. Hopefully we'll see ya on the road.

It’s been a month since we opened for Bon Jovi and now we’re at it again. As part of our contest winnings, we are now competing in the Bon Jovi “Have a Nice Gig” Semi-Finals. Over the next four weeks, 6 bands will compete online each week. The band with the most votes from a single week will move on. From the top 4 finalists, Richie Sambora and Jon Bon Jovi will then choose their favorite to open for them at Madison Square Garden in NYC!!!

So, now you know what’s going on, here’s the important part. This week, Monday, March 13, through Sunday, March 19, we’re up to bat against 5 other bands. TAJ AND SKA FANS UNITE! Ok, this is getting really weird! For the second time, Taj won the round in Star94’s Battle of the Bands II. Now, there are only 4 bands left and we need your vote more than ever before.

For those of you that are hearing about this for the first time, The Taj Motel Trio is competing in Atlanta’s Star94 Battle of the Bands II (top 40 radio), with the winner getting to open up for Bon Jovi next week at Gwinnett Arena (Can you imagine, ska-punk frenzy meets arena rock!). They are going to play the final battle 5 times on Thursday. The times will be 8, 10, 12, 2 and 4pm. They will be taking 21 votes each time and tally them all up. 

So, tomorrow, Thursday, February 9 at 8, 10, 12, 2 and 4pm - Warning! Today they played us 15 minutes earlier, so be sure to listen in and vote for Taj! AWESOME!!!!! Enough people called Star94 this morning, voted for us, and we made it through Round 1!!!! So, for those of you who don’t know… Atlanta’s Star94 is having a Battle of the Bands on air and the winner gets to open for Bon Jovi (we could be Rockin’ Like Dokken with flaming guitars and all!!!!! [or maybe even John Mayer style rockin’ with lasers coming out of our eyes]) on February 15 and we'd also get a full day of studio time (and I know you all want us to record some new tunes!). Just on a whim, we entered the contest, and we are now, after winning the first round, one of the 8 remaining finalists!!!

Here’s how it works. Some time around 8:00 AM on Wednesday, February 8th (tomorrow), they'll play our version of “My Girl”, after that you'll need to call into Star94 and vote…The number is 404-741-9400. Things have been going pretty good in the world of Taj. But since we've been silent for a while we've been getting asked a lot of questions. Yes we are still around, and as a matter of fact we've been working on quite a bit of new music. We've also been working on recording demo versions of some of the new songs......we may post some of 'em on the site, if you guys wanna hear 'em!!! Also we've been trying to figure out how to rearrange the fabric of space and time known as existence so that Nashville would be a close neighbor to us.....still no luck though. And to answer the last question, NO we're not on Interscope records!!!!

We've got a killer show coming up at Swayzes this friday night, July 8th, with our close friends the Mopers. It's gonna be a fun show so you really should try to make it out. Hope to see ya there.

We're going to be playing this Saturday night, Dec. 18th at 13 Stories (yes it is a haunted house) in Kennesaw, GA. This place is right down the road from Swayzes so if you normally come to the Swayzes shows, I want to see ya there. This is going to be a killer show, w/ lots of killer bands!!!!!! Be there!!!!!!

We've returned safely from the "drinkin' Steptembeers world tour", we had alot of fun and made alot of new friends. The only downside is that Kevin's cymbals got stolen half way through the trip, so if anyone has any old cymbals that they'd like to donate to Kevin, just let me know.

We're going to be playing at the New Brookland Tavern in Columbia, SC this Sunday (Oct 3) w/ our good friends Rudy. If your in the area you should come out to the show, it's gonna be really fun.

Hey Everybody!!! We're going to be heading up to Knoxville tomorrow for the SkaWeekend show on Saturday. We're going to be playing around 8:00pm but the show starts at noon, make sure you get there early this show is gonna ROCK!!!!

We picked up Kevin's new drum set from Huston drums last week, and they look and sound AMAZING. You can see pictures of the new Taj Mo Drums on Huston's website. They're really hard to miss, just look for the black and pink drums. Oh, if anybody needs a custom kit Huston is the man, definitely talk to him first.

Today is the official release date for the Still Standing compilation. So go out to your local record shop and if they don't have any copies tell 'em to get some, this is an amazing comp. 

We have begun taking pre-orders for our new album "Life of the Party". If you preorder your copy now, it will ship on April 4th (at the latest). The CD release parties will be sometime in April, more info on that when I get the confirmed dates.

We've added some new shows, including a last minute show in Gainesville at the Georgia Mountains Centers conference room. Admission is FREE so if you live close don't miss this show. (it's right across the street from the Penny University so you should be able to see us and Taking Lottie Home!!!!)

The comp features 88 North American ska bands including The Taj Motel Trio, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and many many more. This is over 5 hours of quality ska for less than $20. You just can't find a better deal than that.

The Taj Motel Trio is going to have a track on the upcoming Megalith Records Comp "Still Standing". It's going to be a 4 CD set featuring some very big names in ska...........the Toasters, the Pietasters, the Slackers, Let's Go Bowling, the Voodoo Glow Skulls, Mustard Plug, MU330, the Chinkees, and many many more. The release date isn't set yet but you should be able to find it most anywhere, Megalith has great distribution.

We are still in the studio working on our new album tentatively titled Taj 2.0 ..... All is going well and some sound clips will be posted as soon as they are available. 

We are currently looking for people with experience making skins for Winamp, MS Media Player, Trillian, Neo Planet Web-Browser, and any other skinable program. If you have experience creating skins and would like to contribute to our next album please email us and send an example of your work to band@tajmoteltrio.com

Yes we are aware that sometimes when we're particularly busy the site doesn't get updated regularly. In an effort to keep everyone informed we will be posting a forum so you all interact with each other and even if the site hasn't been updated in a week or so you'll be able to get info from people in the know.

Two days down and we've finished the all drum tracks and laid down the basic guitar and bass tracks. Now we're working on horns. Everything sounds great!!!

Tomorrow The Taj Motel Trio starts work on their new album @ Sound Decision Studios. We will keep you all up to date with pics and info from the studio, and as soon as it's all finished we'll post some sound clips.

CAUTION - Pirates are on the loose!  The Taj Motel Trio has recently been kidnapped, falling prey to a devious pirate plot to destroy all ska.  These pirates are armed and dangerous and willing to rip the cd player right out of your house or car!  If you see pirates, run and hide.  Fortunately, a mysterious band of ska-lovin' ninjas called the Ninja Motel Trio has agreed to rescue the Taj Motel Trio and play their shows until they get back in exchange for babes and pickled eggs.  If you want to help the Taj Motel Trio, please sign the guest book and show your support (and let us know if you can get babes or pickled eggs).  If you want to know more about the Ninja Motel Trio, check out the Bio page.  If you want to know more about Ninjas and how awesome and sweet they are and how much pirates SUCK, click here.

Hola chickas y chicos. It's been a while since the last update so I feel compelled to make this one really amazing. Unfortunately that may not be the case. We do have some really cool things in the works. The magic eight ball has predicted some studio time for the trio....soon, very soon. Plus we're also working on putting together some killer local shows in good ol' Habersham. Check the shows page to find out when we're coming to a town near you and if you haven't already, be sure to sign up for our mailing list so we can keep you informed on shows and even merch specials for mailing list members.

Also if anyone knows what exactly this page means please let me know.

WOW. We played at the Van's Warped Tour in Atlanta yesterday and it was awesome. We had a great crowd and it was so much fun. I want to thank everyone who came out to see us, and we hope to see you all again in the near future. I'll be posting some pictures from Warped as soon as we get them back from the developer. Also keep watching this site for new info regarding shows and a few surprises we have planned (don't ask....we're not gonna to talk).

We are currently working on members only site for our street team. This means you'll have access to privileged information before everyone else and you'll get a few benefits (free admission to shows, and some other things we haven't thought of yet). So keep checking back here and when everything is ready we'll post all the info on how to join.

I just got off the phone with a rep from Ernie Ball and it's official. The Taj Motel Trio will be playing on the Ernie Ball Stage at the Atlanta stop of the Van's Warped Tour.

Hello everyone. I want to take this time to tell you all about our two newest members. First off we've got Eddie Allen (don't worry ladies he IS single) coming up from the farm team to add a second trombone to the mix, and believe me 2x the trombone is 2x the fun. Secondly we've got Kevin Rose who's chosen to skip the minors altogether and sign with the big boys on drums.
